Leaving Daingerfield….

We arrived outside of Garland in Royce City for a good charge at an Electrify America at a super Walmart store. These stops have been quite reliable.

My aunt Gale Sullivan treated us to a tour and a super yummy lunch in downtown Garland. We had a great visit but wished it could have been longer – next time.

Driving through Dallas to get south of Fort Worth is a remarkable challenge, but we avoided the main thoroughfare and marveled at the construction of high rising overhead ramps along the way.

We arrived in Cleburne late afternoon and were treated to a scrumptious home cooked meal by Rob’s cousin Sheldon. What a lovely visit we had reminiscing and trading stories of Mother and Pop with Debbie and Sheldon. These two have camped quite a bit throughout Texas, Arizona and Utah. They made several recommendations and we hope to be able to check out some of these areas. They have a lovely home tucked along a country road. It felt like we were back home within minutes of our arrival.

Delicious pot roast, and we even got to bring the leftovers with us!

Sheldon and I picked beets and onions this morning and I added them to our “pantry” for dinner tonight – Can’t wait to fix up some beet greens and heat up that pot roast – living large here in TEXAS, where everything really is super sized!

Today we take on a massive road trip to our next destination into the dessert just south east of Albuquerque, NM. I’ll update you along the way today as service allows. We are headed to the volcanic field of Carrizozo.

Keeping the rubber side down, Julie and Rob
