On our way to Buckskin from Homolovi, we navigated to our first RIVIAN charge point – pristine to say the least.

The drive through the mountains of northern Arizona was spectacular!

The sunset view from our campsite along the Colorado River at Buckskin Mountain State Campground in Parker, AZ.
Everything here is very green or it is rock and clay. The trees are mostly mesquite but some look like old weeping willows and others look like old white birch.

The bark is white, but the photographer isn’t that great.

These are mesquite trees one across the way from us and one on the other side of the RIVIAN.

This is a the Lightening Bolt hike scenic peak – Rob went up there and continued into the desert for a few miles – it is too dang hot for me! Can you see the bench?

This is the view of the river and the bathhouse from our corner site – quite lovely – a bit too many yahoo jet skiers for my taste, and loud speedboats for some reason – not too many nature lovers here with us for now. This is a state park and it is quite hot here – but it feels more like an RV Park on the “Riviera”.
We went for a dip this morning and will probably go into the river again late afternoon if it doesn’t rain – praying for a little rain though – that would be so refreshing – nothing like desert rain.

My “through the bug splattered windshield” photos don’t quite capture the majestic sights…

Buckskin Mountains border two desert regions ~ the Sonoran and the Mohave ~ there are so many different types of cacti. Here’s just a sampling from my walk today!

Signing off for now – we are headed a little south and east today into the lower desert outside of Phoenix to visit family – excited to see everyone!
